Welsh Baccalaureate

The Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification is made in Wales and designed to meet the needs of a modern, outward facing Wales. It is designed to complement and build on existing structures to realise our learners full potential and recognise their achievements.

North Wales Training is one of the first Work Based Learning Providers approved by the Welsh Assembly Government to offer the Welsh Baccalaureate in the work place.

North Wales Training is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government to deliver Intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate Diplomas in the Work Based Learning setting.

What is the Welsh Baccalaureate?

The Welsh Baccalaureate is an over-arching qualification consisting of two parts: the Core and the Options. The options are approved qualifications that learners can study for in school, college or the workplace. (NVQs)

How will the Welsh Baccalaureate help learners get on at work?

Learners completing the Welsh Baccalaureate will have had a broader and richer experience because in addition to their subject expertise, (NVQ) they will have developed the keyskills enabling them to be better communicators, to work in teams, use numbers in practical context, to use computers, to solve problems and be able to evaluate and improve their own performance at work. Learners will also further their personal and social education and learn more about Wales and its relationship with Europe and the World.
